About Us

BrayBree Publishing is a small independent publisher of books on Southern history, with a particular emphasis on Tennessee history. Our mission is to create exceptional books for readers and offer local and regional authors the opportunity to publish and promote their works on the social, political, and cultural history of the southeastern United States.

We’re proud to publish and promote the scholarly works of our authors and share them with readers across the country. We currently publish up to 5 titles per year. Genres include:

We are not currently accepting submissions of proposed book projects by first-time and established authors. 

Kevin D. McCann and John E. Talbott, J.D., founded BrayBree Publishing in April 2012. Both are authors of local and regional Tennessee history books and share a passion for reading and writing. As a child, Kevin dreamed of writing books and seeing his name on the bookshelves of his local library. Having achieved his dream, he now wants to make it possible for other talented writers and local historians to do the same. Our founders will employ their passions and creativity to help authors produce and promote exceptional, high-quality books.
